Crystal Elaine Rankin, 67, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center in Huntersville, NC.

Crystal Elaine Trapp Rankin was born on July 19, 1958 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Charles Trapp, Sr. and Katie Mae Davis Trapp. Our Heavenly Father called her from labor to reward, early Tuesday morning, March 24, 2026.

Crystal attended Charlotte Public Schools, graduating from West Charlotte High School, in 1977. She went on to build a beautiful life marked by love, resilience and grace. Crystal gave her life to the Lord at an early age. Her parents took her to church and Sunday School where she always put Christ first in her life. She was a member of East Stonewall AME Zion Church. She later joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

On September 24, 1984, she was joined in Holy Matrimony with Richard Rankin and together, they were the proud parents of one son, Chez Rankin.

For over 15 dedicated years, Crystal served in transit, not just as an employee, but a pillar of reliability, strength and care. She approached her work with pride , ensuring that everything she touched ran smoothly and safely. Her work ethic was unmatched and never wavered.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her son, Chez Rankin, her daughter-in-law, Desiree Fuller; her grandchildren, Urijan Rankin and Emery Rankin; her sister Beverly West and her brother, Charles Trapp, Jr.; her ex-husband, Richard Rankin; her nieces, nephews, and a host of other family, co-workers and friends.
