Ms. Cynthia Young Bess, 66 of Charlotte, passed away on Monday May 6, 2019 at her residence.  She was the daughter of the late Robert and Magdalene Young and was born in Charlotte, NC, December 30, 1952.  Cynthia was educated in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System and graduated from North Mecklenburg Senior High School with the class of 1971.  She was a hard and dedicated worker of CCL Label with over 32 years of service.

Saved at a young age, Cynthia was a member of Greenville Memorial AME Zion Church.  Taking her to another level in ministry, she became a member of Temple Chapel Baptist Church where she was active in many auxiliaries such as Cheerful Workers, Ushers Board, and Temple Chapel Mass Choir to name a few.  She later joined her daughter at Divine Destiny of Trinity Jubilee Ministries, as a mother of the church.  She was also on the Board of Directors, over the Ushers board and a devoted Trustee.

Her parents Edward and Magdalene Young along with two brothers, Charles Thompson, Darryl Young (Cindy) and sister Priscilla Young preceded her in death.  Also preceding in death were 2 sister in-laws, Hazel Hudson (Jeffrey) and Sandra Bess.

Cynthia leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 19 years, Cordell Bess. Five daughters, Pastor Andrea Walker, Calandra "Tasha" Gray (Lamont), Ivy Angel Walker, Nicasha Moore (Chris) and Shanda Boyles all of Charlotte, NC.  Six sisters, Yvonne Mclwain, Robin Murdock (Timothy), Bonnie Anderson (Reginald), Patsy Camp (William), Sandra Young, and Daisy Young of Charlotte, NC.  Two Brothers, Edward Young (Lydia) of Greensboro, NC and Arthur Young (Lois) of Charlotte, NC.  Five brother in-laws, Charles Robinson (Peggy) of Philadelphia, PA, William Robinson (Annie Ruth), Omar Bess (Gloria), Haywood Bess Jr., and Rick Bess (Paula) all of Charlotte, NC. Two sister in-laws, Phyllis Bess and Joyce Bess of Charlotte, NC.  Two aunts, Annette Means and Bertha Massey (David)).  Three uncles, Donald Young, Gunzie Young and Timothy Young all of Charlotte, NC.  One close dear friend, Carolyn Betts.  Twelve grandchildren: Zachary (Shenita), Edwin (Deeangela), Cynethia, Diontaye, DeOndre, Kayla, Lauryn, Miles, Lance, LaMondre, Justin and Braylen,  Nine great grandchildren: Trinity, Jeremiah, Serenity, King, Destini, Andre', Zachary III, Ezekiel and Edwin.
