Obituary

Mrs. Cynthia Renetta Fisher, 59 of Charlotte, passed away on Friday January 3, 2020 at University Place Nursing and Rehabilitation.   She was a devoted mother, and wife, daughter, sister, and dear friend.  Cynthia was welcomed into this world by parents, James and Lois High, Jr., April 6, 1960 in Fayetteville, NC.

Cynthia was the second eldest of seven children and the first daughter so she learned early on the responsibilities of being the "big sister" by helping her mother take care and watch over her other brothers and sisters.  With a strict Vietnam vet as a father and a strong mother, Cynthia was destined to be a natural born leader.  She led the way for her siblings and taught them each a thing or two about life and love.  Cynthia was commonly referred to as "Cynth" by her family and those close to her.

After graduating from Terry Sanford High School in 1979, she went on to pursue education at Kings College in Charlotte, NC by enrolling in their Merchandising Program.  Cynthia and her younger sister Vonnie both shared a desire for creating designs, modeling, and anything that surrounded the world of fashion.  Cynthia loved fashion so much she would make/sew her own clothes instead of buying them off the rack at stores.

After spending some time in Charlotte and New York, she decided to move back to Fayetteville, NC.  There she met her husband, James Fisher, who was serving in the Army and stationed at Fort Bragg at the time.  The two were married on October 4, 1984.  Eventually, the couple relocated to Charlotte, NC.  They shared two loving children, Angelique Danielle Fisher and Tiffany Nicole Fisher.  The couple celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this past October.

In addition to being helpful daughter, protective sister, and devoted mother and wife, Cynthia served as a faithful witness for many years.  Cynthia followed in her mother's footsteps who was also a dedicated witness.

In her later years, Cynthia worked as a teacher assistant in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System.  Cynthia remained very passionate about art and got to showcase her talent throughout her career working with CMS.

If she wasn't reading her spiritual literature and Bible, in her free time she was sketching fashion designs, home decor, illustrations of celebrities, and gorgeous landscapes.  These are the memories we want to hold on to today and moving forward.  Let us not be sad about her departure but grateful and overjoyed that we had the pleasure of being part of such a wonderful person's life.  We should cling onto the hope of seeing her in the new system if  we make strides to serve Jehovah faithfully as she did.

Joining in celebrating her life today are her loving husband, James W. Fisher; daughters, Tiffany Fisher-Hamilton (Richard) and Angelique Fisher; grand-children, Tyshaun and Tiera Osborne and Taihj Brevard; her wonderful mother, Lois M. High; brothers, Milton, Darryl, Ray and Greg High; two sisters, Vonnie Davis (Elbert) and Dena High and her many nieces nephews, other close family and friends.
