Our Dear Mother Cynthia Miranda McKinney Hinson sadly passed away at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center on Thursday, November 2, 2023, on her birthday, at the age of 67. She was surrounded by family and friends when she passed. Cynthia was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She had many friends and was much loved by everyone; she was educated in the Charlotte Mecklenburg County Public School System and later received her license to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. She loved arts and crafts and you could always count on her to make holiday gifts and baskets during the holidays. One of the most notable things about Cynthia is she loved to make people laugh, mixed with a little drama and a never-ending "Conversation." And she would always make it a point to say "I Love You" before the conversation was over. Before her passing, Cynthia found the Lord and now she will begin a new life in her heavenly home. Cynthia was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah McKinney Nickerson; father, James McKinney; and sister, Belinda White Left to cherish her memories are her devoted sons, Columbus (Hinson) McKinney and Derrick Hinson of Charlotte, NC; her three devoted daughters, Portia Hinson, Sarah Hinson of Charlotte, NC and Joyce Hinson of Connecticut; two devoted step-daughters, Joy Funderburk and Ebony Cohen of Charlotte, NC; ten grandchildren, one devoted brother, Bernard McKinney of Conyers, GA; a devoted aunt, Terrell "Cookie" McDuffie of Charlotte, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews.
