Mrs. Daisy Owens, 74, of Charlotte, NC departed this life on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Atrium Lincoln.

On Friday, June 9, 2023, Ms. Daisy Belle Owens humbly bowed to God's will and peacefully entered into eternal rest.  Daisy was born in Horry County, South Carolina on August 21, 1948, to the late Herman Gause and Mary Lee Grissett.

She met and married the late William Owens. Daisy and William moved to Newark, New Jersey where they raised their children. Together they had six children: Joyce Owens, Celeste Owens, Larnette Frazier, Christopher Owens, Priscilla Arnold, and Michael Owens (Onita). While living in Newark, NJ, she was a homemaker, seamstress, and worked as a data entry clerk.

She was a caring auntie-mommy to Phyllis, Maria, Jacqueline and Tony (who preceded her in death) and a special aunt to Amanda.

Daisy later moved her family to Charlotte, North Carolina. Her work life here in Charlotte included being a data entry specialist for Sealtest, Cato Corporation, and Charlotte Data Entry Center, Inc.  She also worked at Frito-Lay Inc.  Daisy retired from both Charlotte Data Entry Center, Inc. and Frito-Lay Inc.

She was a professional seamstress for more than 40 years. She used her passion and gift of sewing to make garments for family, friends, and others. Daisy designed clothing for all ages and occasions including graduations, performances, weddings, and funerals. When she could no longer sew, she took her creativity to making handcrafted jewelry. Daisy was brilliantly creative and one would say her legacy of creative expression lives on in her children and grandchildren, many whom have gifts in talents in visual arts, decorating and performance.

She was a hard worker who lived her life on her terms. She loved her family her way and sincerely wanted the best for everyone. Daisy had a unique ability to connect with people. She was a beloved mother and grandmother figure to many others. She was a skilled bowler and enjoyed this past-time greatly which garnered her many bowling trophies and championships. She was an avid traveler and spent many vacations in Nassau, Bahamas.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Daniel and Esau; sister Diane; and great-grandson, Gino.

Ms. Daisy Belle Owens leaves to cherish her memory a brother, George Gause (Debra) of Poughkeepsie, NY and sister, Wyoming Stephens of Georgetown, SC; her six children, eighteen grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
