Datlin Theresa  Rose, affectionately known as "Ms. Dottie" 79 of Kingston, Jamaica, departed this life on Thursday, December 30, 2021.  Datlin was born with her twin sister on November 22, 1942 at Jubilee Hospital Kingston, Jamaica to Maltina Samuels and Sydney Rose (both preceded her in death).  She was the fourth child of seven children from her mother:  Lloyd (dec), Elaine (dec), Carmelita McKenley (dec) and Pauline Douglas (resides in NC).  She has five siblings from her father's side: her twin sister Karema Nembhard (dec), Rema Reid, and three brothers Barrington (dec), Neville (dec) and Sydney Rose (dec).

Datlin attended Chetolah Park Primary in Kingston Jamaica in the late 1940s.  Throughout her life, Datlin maintained a multitude of jobs.  Her final job before retirement was in the travel industry.

Datlin began her motherhood journey in November of 1961 when she became a mother to her first of three sons, Noel Rose (Kamar Rose, Keano Rose and Aaron Rose).  Her second son, Conrad Vaz (Orlando) was born July 1967 and her youngest son, Gary Vaz (Emoy Vaz and Dwayne Vaz) in March 1969.

Besides her love for being outdoors, Datlin loved to have a good time and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and was godmother to many around her.  Datlin enjoyed making everyone around her happy through her laughter and jokes.  She was known for "always telling it like it is."

Datlin was very proud of her accomplishments and has touched so many near and far with prayer and words of encouragement.

Datlin's memory will be cherished by her 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 2 sisters and a multitude of family and friends.
