Mr. David Livingston Carter, 96, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Novant Presbyterian Medical.

David Livingston Carter was born July 9, 1928, in Laurens, South Carolina, to the late Esther Carter.  He passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Novant Presbyterian Hospital Main in Charlotte, NC.

He attended Mecklenburg County Schools in Charlotte, North Carolina.

He was united in Holy Matrimony on January 13, 1957, to Rosa L. Carter and they were married for 64 years.  She preceded him in death in January 2021.

Mr. Carter joined Berean Seventh Day Adventist Church under the leadership of L.R. Hastings in 1961.  He was a faithful church member for many years.  He served in different ministries until unable to serve.  Even though unable to serve, he remained faithful in attendance until his passing.

He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter, Barbara Lucas of Charlotte, NC; one nephew, Harold Carter of Laurens, SC; grandchildren, Samantha Thorne of Hyattsville, MD; Renee Tay and Terrance Andre Simpson, both of Greensboro, NC; Joseph L. Thorne, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Elder Jared L. Thorne of Hickory, NC, Rev. Christopher Mathis (Gossie) of Orangeburg, SC; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
