Mr. David Charles Strong, 84 of Charlotte, passed away on Saturday June 8, 2019 at his residence.  David was born on January 10, 1935 in Fairfield County, SC.  He was the son of the late, Blake and Pauline Fester Strong.

He was educated in the Fairfield County School System.  Mr. Strong worked for the City of Charlotte for 32 years.  After retirement he was employed with Parrish Tire Company for 12 years.

Mr. Strong had a passion for playing checkers, spending summer days on the porch with his wife, and taking long drives through the city.

He was a loving husband, great father, and devoted grandfather.  He was a caring husband to his wife of 61 years, Clara Nell Strong.  From their union they produced four children.  He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Charles Strong.

Left to cherish his memories are his son:  Lloyd A. Strong (Sharon); two daughters, Carolyn S. Lewis and Joyce N. Strong, all of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren, Vontavia Henry (Kevin), Sheena Crump, Alisha Robinson (Gene), Briana Strong, Desmond Strong, Sha'ron Cuthbertson, RayShawn Strong, Pharaoh Frye; ten great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
