Mr. David "Hugh" Houston, 86 of Charlotte, was called to rest from this life to eternal reward on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Novant Health-Main.

Hugh was born September 25, 1934 to the late Grady and Gertrude Houston.  He was raised and educated in Union County.  He attended and graduated from Western Union High School in Marvin, NC.  Hugh was employed at Standard Chemicals for several years; after which he worked with Lunn Enterprise.  Hugh was a faithful member of Shiloh Institutional Baptist Church where faithfully attended Sunday School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margaret Houston; seven siblings, Bernice, Mary, Martha, Thomas, Grady Ruth, John Henry, and William (Will).  He was previously married to the late Mary Frances Houston and to this union seven children were born.

He leaves cherished memories to his children, David Houston of Charlotte, NC, Wanda H. Miller (Danny) of Charlotte, NC, Sharon H. Lowery of Charlotte, NC, Roger Houston of Charlotte, NC, Stevie Houston of Charlotte, NC, Vernon Houston (Sonia) of Rock Hill, SC, and Grady Houston of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Edith H. Harris of Charlotte, NC, Virginia H. Greer of Charlotte, NC, Novella H. Lunn (Robert) of Concord, NC; thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
