David Thompson, age 89, passed away on Wednesday January 17th, 2018. Mr. Thompson is survived by one daughter Lea Tolbert and her husband Ricky Tolbert, and one son Alfred Thompson; four grandchildren Christopher Yeary and wife Keiko Yamamura -Yeary, Holly Minter, Alfred Thompson, Jr. and wife Karen Thompson, and Scherer Thompson Blount and husband Jermaine Blount; four great-grand-children.

At the age of 89, David Thompson was still singing, and traveling with Men Standing For Christ a group he helped establish over sixty years ago.

Mr. Thompson's Homegoing Celebration will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 12 noon at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 7237 Tuckaseegee Rd., Charlotte, NC.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon.  Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
