Obituary

Deloris Mahone, 69, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center in Huntersville, NC.

On Saturday, July 4, 2026, our beloved Deloris “Dee” Mahone peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 69. While our hearts grieve the loss of her earthly presence, we rejoice in the assurance that she has received the eternal promise she faithfully believed, lived, and shared with others throughout her life.

Born on December 1, 1956, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to Albert and Leola Alexander, Dee lived a life rooted in faith, love, kindness, and service. She was known for her gentle spirit, generous heart, and unwavering trust in God. Her faith wasn’t just something she believed—it was evident in the way she lived each day.

For more than 40 years, Dee faithfully worshiped and served as a devoted member of Victory Christian Center Church. Her relationship with Jesus Christ was not only a part of her life, but it was also the very center of it. She walked by faith in every season, trusting God’s plan even when the path was uncertain. Her life reflected the fruits of the Spirit through her compassion, patience, generosity, humility, and committed devotion to God.

To Dee, serving others was never an obligation; it was an act of worship. Whether through a heartfelt prayer, a comforting conversation, an encouraging word, a home-cooked meal, or a helping hand, she demonstrated Christ’s love every day. She never sought recognition for her kindness because she believed that every opportunity to love someone was an opportunity to honor God.

Above all else, Dee treasured her family. She was a devoted mother whose love knew no limits, a proud grandmother whose joy multiplied with every grandchild, a faithful daughter, a loving sister, and a trusted friend. Her greatest fulfillment came not from personal accomplishments but from seeing those she loved flourish in faith and in life.

To her children and grandchildren, she was more than the heart of the family; she was its spiritual anchor. She taught by example that prayer changes things, faith overcomes fear, and God remains faithful through every circumstance. She celebrated every victory, carried every burden alongside those she loved, and covered her family in constant prayer. Her deepest desire was that each generation would know Christ personally, trust Him completely, and build their lives upon His Word. That spiritual legacy is a gift that will continue long after her earthly journey has ended.

Deloris leaves to cherish her memory of her caring daughters, Ebony (Chris) and Ariel; her beloved grandchildren, Jaiden, Jhordan, Jhada, Zane, Zion, Nova, and Ezekiel; her loving mother, Leola Alexander; her siblings, three brothers, James D Alexander (Margie), Vincent Alexander (Trina), Ramsideen Ameen (Wardah) and four sisters, Beulah Wallace, Karen Shabazz, Gloria Akram (Musa), Mamie Reinbold (Frank); along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dominic Mahone; her father, Albert Alexander; her four brothers, Warren, Lawrence, Horace, Murray, and one sister Lillie.

Though Dee’s earthly journey has ended, her legacy lives on in the faith she shared, the love she gave, the prayers she prayed, and the lives she touched. As we celebrate her remarkable life, may we honor her memory by loving God more deeply, serving others more faithfully, and walking in the same unwavering faith that defined her life.

“Well done, good and faithful servant . . . Enter into the joy of your Lord.”   Matthew 25:23
