Demonta Deshawn Gaither "Monta" CHARLOTTE - Demonta Deshawn Gaither, known as "Monta," born Nov. 10, 1994, in Charlotte, to Maurice Gaither of Charlotte and Yolanda Ames of Baltimore, Md., passed away on April 28, 2014, at the age of 19. Demonta is survived by his mother and stepfather, Yolanda Ames and Terrance Johnson; and brothers, Malik President, Devon Patton, Ty'reese Johnson; as well as his father and stepmother, Maurice and Becky Gaither, brothers, Dontarious Johnson, Maurice Bethea, and Tyresse, William, Nathanael Gaither; sisters, Aumnisha Bethea and Deosha; and his son De'Siah Thomas; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Monta will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Grier Funeral Home at 115 John McCarroll Ave., Charlotte, will have open viewing on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. On Wednesday, May 7, 2014, there will be a visitation at 1 p.m. with a 2 p.m. funeral service at Myers Park Presbyterian at 2501 Oxford Pl., Charlotte.
