Mr. Dennis Joel, 80, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at University Nursing & Rehab.

Dennis Joel was born December 31, 1943, to the late Dave Joel and Bell Saxton Joel, in Charlotte, North Carolina.  He attended First Ward School where he played basketball.  He worked and retired from Charlotte Pipe Foundry after 40 years.  He went above and beyond for his family and friends.  His generosity was unlimited – if he had it, you had it.  Dennis' favorite gospel song was "God's Goodness" by Willie Banks and the Messengers.  He was a diehard Washington Redskins fan and loved to watch all sports.

Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Lizzie Mae Streeter Joel and his son, Danquirs Franklin.

Dennis leaves to cherish the memory of his life two sons, Dennis Streeter and Reginald Joel; one daughter, Audrey Joel Brice (Larry); one sister, Sadie Mae Joel (Joe), all of Charlotte, NC; a special friend, Deborah Ann Franklin; ten special nephews and nieces whom he loved like his own children; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
