Mr. Derek Russell Diamond, 33 of San Diego, CA,  formerly of Charlotte, passed away on November 14, 2019.  He was the son of Lawanda Diamond and the late Russel Diamond, was born on July 28, 1986.

Derek was educated in New York at West Hollow High School in Dix Hills, New York.  Upon graduation, Derek moved to North Carolina and shortly thereafter enlisted into the United States Navy.  While in the Navy, he worked in the healthcare system.  After receiving an honorable discharge, he moved to the San Diego, California area to live. Shortly after his move to California, Derek continued his service to the country by joining the National Guard.

Derek is survived by his wife, Sandrea Diamond of San Diego CA; his two sons, Chance Gutierrez and Derek D. Diamond, also of San Diego, CA; his mother, Lawanda Diamond from New York; grandparents, James and Carolyn Wintons of Lake City, FL and Thelma Diamond of North Babylon (Suffolk County), New York; siblings, Monique Lambo, Cherish K. Davis, Martin Diamond, Tanisha Diamond and Jaliek Diamond; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
