Our beloved son, brother, and uncle, Derrick Demond Nance, 37 of Charlotte, NC, departed this earthly life on Friday, August 20, 2021. He was born on April 15, 1984 at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California to Jeffrey Bernard Nance and Jacquelyn McClinton-Nance. Those who knew Derrick lost a glimmer of light in their lives.

Derrick was a gentle giant not just in stature, but in his heart and spirit. He loved the game of basketball. He had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh that no one could resist. He will always be remembered as a loving spirit that was given to us. He will be missed and will forever keep him in our heart.

He leaves to celebrate his life, his parents Chief Jeffrey "Jeff" Nance, Jacquelyn "Jackie" Nance; sister, Tasia Nance-Caple (Andre); brother, Rashad L. Nance; two nieces, Essence Fadira Conyers and Emani Nance; nephew, Elijah Nance; maternal grandmother, Ruby Glenn; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Flossie Nance-Massey, Gus Massey, and paternal grandfather Jasper McClinton.
