On April 23, 2021, Our Beloved DeShawn Dennis, was called to his heavenly home.  Earths' loss is certainly Heaven's gain and Heaven has truly gained an angel in DeShawn.  His bright and radiant smile lit up the room whenever he entered.  DeShawn was born May 2, 1974 to Leonard and Lila Dennis, in Englewood, NJ.  He was raised in Parkview Terrace where he attended Dwight Morrow High School.

DeShawn later lived in Charlotte, NC where he met the love of his life Nicole in 2009 and married on March 4, 2011.  They recently celebrated 10 Years of Love.  His affection and love for his wife and family was unmatched and undeniable.  Anyone who met him knew he adored his wife because he never failed to mention that.  He was a Man of God, with Great faith even until rest.  He was a Gatekeeper to his Pastors, Bishop Roy and Janice Tucker at The Praising Place Church of God, located in East Charlotte, NC.  He was a SOUS CHEF at UNCC, where his love for cooking was expressed.  He gave his time to catering/cooking for events, playing video games on PlayStation, watching sports with his sons (DIE HARD COWBOYS FAN) or comedy shows with his wife and biblical teachings during family bible studies with his extended family.  Have you ever been to a Dennis Family Function, where DeShawn was the CHEF??? Ohhh, you do not know what you've been missing.  Although he was a man of very few words, he showed love to everyone he met, especially in the kitchen where he gave his all.  If you have had DeShawn cook for you, you have experienced his LOVE at its BEST.

DeShawn is survived by his wife, Nicole, children (Nazahrah (Royalty), Matthias, Noah, and Nehemiah), Granddaughters (Yazmin, and Nasira-Royalty), Parents (Lila and Leonard Dennis), Siblings and their spouses (Allen Dennis, Timothy Dennis (Tammie), Sagundia Merritt (Calvin) along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
