Mr. Dexter L. Watson, 66, of Charlotte, NC departed this life on Monday, July 3, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Dexter Lyn Watson, 66, of Charlotte passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, following an extended illness.  He was born on February 18, 1957 in Charlotte, NC.  He was the son of the late Chester Summers and the late Mary B. Watson Summers.

Dexter was educated in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System attending Northwest Junior High School and West Charlotte High School.  He worked at numerous jobs in Charlotte as a warehouseman, forklift operator, machine operator or supervisor.

Dexter was a genuine outdoorsman.  He liked target shooting and hunting.  He liked to do yard work. He took pride in taking immaculate care of his yard. He liked to work in his garden or sit on the porch and just relax.  But his true passion was fishing!  Whether it was freshwater or salt water, he loved to fish.

Dexter was preceded in death by his father, Chester Summers; his mother, Mary B. Watson Summers; his mother-in-law, Willie Myers; his brother, Joseph Boulware; his sisters, Doris Watson and Mary Jane Richmond.

Dexter leaves to leaves to cherish the memory of his life, his common-law wife of over 40 years, Lillie "Mae" Myers; his sons, Caderis Heath (Chasidy) of Cleveland, NC and Henry Boulware of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren, Kavasia Heath of Winston-Salem, NC & others, and ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Birdie Watson of Charlotte; two brothers, Larry Boulware of Charlotte and James Parker (Elaine) of Fort Washington, MD;  two aunts, Inez Woods, and Evelyn Daniels, both of Charlotte; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
