Dianne Hill, 76, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.

Dianne Hill made her transition to her heavenly home in the early morning of July 16, 2026, at Atrium Health Mercy, Charlotte, North Carolina, after 76 good years on this earth. She was born in Tignal, Georgia, September 22, 1949, to the late Willie Hill and Janie Norman Hill. She was the only girl of six children of Janie and Willie.

Dianne met Billy Jacobs in Charlotte, NC and with this union they had a son, Terrence Jamal Hill. Dianne was a very amiable, friendly, generous and jovial person but don’t make her mad. She could be unwavering. Dianne had so many friends from school and work and many of which were very loyal to her and to the family. There was no one she would deny her genuine smile. If there was a trip to be taken, she was right there and ready to go. Meeting with alumni and friends was always a joy to her, but her cooking was a joy to us.

Dianne worked many years with Southern Bell. Then she worked for the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services for 30 years from which she retired in 2014.

Dianne was a decades long member of Second Calvary Baptist Church, and attended regularly, until her mother’s health declined amid the Covid outbreak, and then herself, a short time thereafter.

Dianne was preceded in death by father, Willie Hill; mother, Janie Hill, and two brothers, Vaden Hill and Tony Hill.

Dianne is survived by her son, Terrence Hill; brother John Hill and sister-in-law, Corrine Hill; brother Robert Hill and sister-in-law, Mary Hill; brother Melvin Hill and sister-in-law, Allie Hill, and a host of other relatives and friends.
