Dianne Jackson Pearson, daughter of the late Caldwell Jackson and Frances L. Gilchrist Jackson, embraced life on February 28, 1950, in Mecklenburg County, Charlotte, North Carolina at the Good Samaritan Hospital. She departed this earthly life on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville, North Carolina.


Dianne's education started at Torrence Lytle School in Huntersville, North Carolina, John Taylor "JT" Williams Junior High School and West Charlotte Senior High School, Class of 1969. After graduation, Dianne attended Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) and studied in the field of Early Childhood Education. After completion, she gained employment at Park Road Development Center. She also enjoyed employment with the Howell Center, Group and Individuals Homes and Park and Recreational Center. Dianne's first employment was with Curtis Smith Dry Cleaners where, throughout her adult life, she maintained getting various clothing items dry cleaned and pressed. She served in different Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) such as Hidden Valley, Lincoln Heights, Idlewild, Mallard Creek Elementary, South Mecklenburg High School and finally, University Mallard Elementary School. She retired from CMS after 38 years.


Dianne loved going to comedy shows and could tell funny stories. She loved playing the "Boogie Woogie" notes, if there was a piano around. She loved her nail polish and keeping her nails polished, going to "Bingo," the casinos and having her family and friends over for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. She loved to decorate her home for Christmas and she loved having a tree hung with Easter Eggs. Dianne loved to talk and sing on the telephone. Dianne affectionately was "Mama" to Charleen, Lisa "Ms. C" and Nana; best friend to Vera; mother-in-law to Vanessa Jackson; and aunt to Sheena, Chiquita"KeKe"and Gloria.


Dianne was married to Freddie Pearson, Sr. for 45 years. Together, the couple raised four sons. The family valued Christian lifestyle membership at Rockwell A.M.E. Zion Church in Charlotte, North Carolina where Dianne was an usher, served on the Missionary Supply Committee and was a member of the Lay Council. Later, the couple transferred their membership to East Stonewall A.M.E. Zion Church and was active there until her health began to fail.


She was preceded in death by her devoted husband,Freddie Pearson, Sr.; son, Gregory L. Jackson; twobrothers, Caldwell Jackson, Jr., and Jerry Jackson; four sisters, Sara Mae Jackson, Sheila "Pokey" Jackson, Sherrie A. Jackson and Ella "Louise" Jackson;and three nephews, Bobby Gettys, James Bethea and Frankie "Buggs" Jones.
Dianne is survived by love and memories of her remain in their hearts of her three sons,Freddie Pearson, Jr. (Artébia) of Rock Hill, SC, Damion Pearson (Shavonnda) and Corey Pearson, Sr. (Antwanette) of Charlotte, NC; nine grandsons, Ja Michael Jackson, Lorenzo Davis, Corey Pearson, Jr., Deontay "DeDe" Gaston of Charlotte, NC, Gregory, Jackson, Jr. and Dayland Jackson of Marvin, NC, Damarcus Jackson, Sr. of Hickory, NC, Myles Pearson (Dashawn) of San Antonio, TX and Trevor Pearson of Rock Hill, SC; two granddaughters, Joy A. Pearson and Jewel Pearson of Charlotte, NC; six greatgrandchildren, Jayda Jackson of Charlotte, Remy Blue of Rock Hill, SC, Rory Pearson and Dove of San Antonio, TX, Demarcus Jackson, Jr. and Kániyah Jackson of Hickory, NC; four sisters, Virginia J. Gettys (Bobby), Josephine "JJ" J. Streeter, Celestine "Cookie" J. Givens and Katrina Jackson of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Frankie "Big Hook" Jackson of Charlotte and Harold "Lil Hook" Jackson (Frances) of Oviedo, FL; three sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Dorsey, Willie Mae Evans and Geraldine Butler of Winnsboro, SC; three brothers-in-law, Robert Lee Pearson of Columbia, SC, Ray Pearson (Cheryl) of Winnsboro, SC and Rev. Melvin Pearson (Bianica) of Greenville, SC; one aunt, Elizabeth "Liz" Johnson of Winnsboro, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews,and cousins.
