Dolleither Yvonne Smyre Scott (1927 - 2024) , 97 of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at White Oak Manor in Lancaster, SC. She was preceded in death by George and Mrytle Smyre. She was born in Morganton, North Carolina April 8th 1927 and had a longtime residence in Statesville, North Carolina. She graduated from Morningside High school and attended North Carolina Central University in Durham as well as Pioneer School of Business.

She was the beloved mother of eight children: Theresa Gray (Earl - deceased), Francesca Corbitt (Roger - deceased), Myrtle Morris (Samuel), William Dennis Scott, Michael Scott (Linda), Reginald (Angel –both deceased), Alfreda Scott-Rankin, Annette Scott. She is also preceded by 27 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren.

Dolleither worked in the textile industry and after retirement devoted many years as a caregiver to members of her community. Her hobbies included singing, reading, and traveling.

She will be remembered for her strength, unwavering faith and love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
