Donald Earl Goines was born on December 29, 1948 in Mecklenburg County, son of the late Ambrose Goines Sr. and Ruth Goines.  He entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Novant Hospital.

Donald was educated in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System and graduated from West Charlotte High School.  After graduation, he joined the United States Navy.

He worked for the City of Charlotte from November 1999 until April 2012.  He also worked for Cannon Mills in the "80's".

Donald was a devoted husband, good father, beloved grandfather, hard worker and a friend to many, all who will sorely miss him.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his brother, Ambrose Goines Jr.

Left to cherish precious memories are his wife of 29 years, Elloree Goines; children, Tawana Goines and Charity Goines; four granddaughters, one grandson and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Cheryl Hall and Sandra White; sisters-in-law, Barbara Goines and Cecelia Threatt; brothers-in-law, David Hall and Willie White; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
