Donald Nelson Hargro, Sr. was born March 7, 1944 to Mamie Word Hargro, and Virgil Hargro Sr. in Lawndale, NC.  He moved to Shelby NC at the age of 13, and eventually Charlotte, NC.  He entered eternity on the 23rd of August 2020 in Atrium Health's "CMC" Main.  He graduated from York Road High School as a "Wapiti" within CMS school system in 1962.  He was an outstanding student academically speaking and was masterful in mathematics.  Donald was also a great athlete in long distance track, and basketball.  He married the love of his life Gracie Pettis Hargro.  He retired from Terrell Machine Company where he worked as the Stock Room supervisor for over 35 years.

He was proceeded in death by his siblings, Ida Mae, Jessie, Jozell, John, Leroy, Fred, Charles, Virgil, Robert (Bobby), and J.C.

He has one living sibling, Mr. Andrew Hargro (Carolyn) of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Donald leaves to mourn : A very devoted wife, Gracie Pettis Hargro; a daughter, Donna Renee Hubbard (Damon); a son, Donald N. Hargro Jr., a granddaughter, Shaina Hubbard (Eddie); grandsons, Corey Hargro, Sean Hubbard (Tiffany), Cameron Hargro, along with four great grandchildren, a a host of nieces, and nephews, grand nieces, and nephews.
