Doris Jones Moody, 87 of Charlotte, departed this life on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at her residence.  She was born on October 1, 1934 to Drupender and Eleanor Jones in Paterson, New Jersey.

Doris was educated in Paterson, New Jersey at Eastside High School.  Also, she graduated from Livingstone College and pursued a career major as a music teacher.

Doris was married to the late Robert Carter Moody Sr. in the year of 1956.  They had three children, Robert Carter Moody II, Jonette Renise Moody and Robin Ann Moody Brown and Robin Ann Moody Brown.  Doris' husband Robert and daughter Robin Ann preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Yasmin Moody.

Doris was employed  with Charlotte Mecklenburg School System for many years until she retired. She was always passionate about working with college and elementary students in the classroom. After retiring from CMS School System, she devoted her time to singing in the choir at Gethsemane A.M.E. Zion Church.

Doris was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Even though Doris will be greatly missed, she will be leaving behind Robert Carter Moody II, Jonette Renise Moody, Robert Carter Moody III, Robert Carter Moody IV, Allison Allen Mungo (Donta), former daughter-in-law, Regina Pitts, William Brown  (Ryan), son-in-law, William Nathaniel Brown; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Jones of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Jane Brewer of Charlotte, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, cherished relatives and friends.
