Ms. Doris Withers, 86 of Charlotte, went home to her Lord & God in Heaven on Monday, February 8, 2021. She was born August 3, 1935 in Huntersville, NC to the late Fred and Ida Wilson Carr.  She grew up on her Fathers 133 acre farm.  She attended Torrence Lytle High School in Huntersville, NC and devoted 20 plus years to working for the Piedmont Mop Company.  Doris Withers was a wife, a mother, grandmother and a lover of Christ.

Mrs. Withers was a devoted member of Victory Christian Center of Charlotte, NC for over 25 years.  She tithed and attended service every Sunday until her health prohibited her from doing so.  However, that would not top her from reading her Bible everyday and spreading the gospel of the Lord.

She will be remembered for her constant reminders of the power of prayer, her pineapple cake, sweet potato custard and impeccable knowledge of the NFL and its players.

The memory of her life will be cherished and forever illuminated by her daughter Cynthia Smith and two sons: Melvin C. Hoover and James Hoover.  Her eldest daughter, Doris Ann Watson, preceded her in death.  Mrs. Withers leaves behind (5) grandchildren La Tonya Watson, Jenika Baldwin, Alicia Watson, Christopher Wiggins and Khristina Ricks and (5) great grandchildren: Andrea Watson, Quinton Watts, Kali Ricks, Karmen Ricks and Kadence Ricks and (1) great-great grandchild: Aleyiah Surratt.
