Mrs. Dorothy Mishoe, 81 of Charlotte, passed away on Friday September 13, 2019 at her residence. She was born on July 26, 1938 in Chester County, South Carolina to the late Sarah Elizabeth Means and Flemon Means.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Andrew Lee Mishoe on December 18, 1954 and to this union, seven children were born. Her husband Andrew Lee preceded her in death on November 14, 2000.
She also was preceded in death by her brother Thomas McMullen and her sister Linda Diane Reams.
Dorothy was educated in the Chester County school system until moving to Roselle, NJ where she finished her education in the Roselle school system. She was raised in a Christian home and was a member of the Bethleham Baptist Church in Roselle, NJ and later joined the Liberty Baptist Church in Elizabeth, NJ. Dorothy was ordained as a Deaconess and served on the Usher and Kindness Kitchen ministries for many years. In 2013, she relocated to Charlotte, NC and became a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Dorothy was a faithful member of the Tuesday morning Bible Study, a Missionary and often assisted the Repast ministry. She was known as the lady who wore beautiful hats and will be deeply missed by all that loved and cared about her.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories three sons, Michael of North Plainfield, NJ, Gary (Joyce) of South Plainfield, NJ and Andrew Jr., of Mt. Vernon, NY; four daughters, Janice Mitchell of the home, Carolyn Mishoe, North Brunswick, NJ, Robin Jackson of Chandler, Arizona and Shalinni Thompson (Fred) of Charlotte, NC; special niece, Angelique Reams of Rock Hill, SC; Eleven Grand-children, Jamal Lewis, Camilla Taylor, Michael Davenport, Gary Mishoe, Jr., Charles Wright III, Lauren Mitchell, Janequa Mishoe, Desira Mishoe, Courtney Jackson, Jalen Thompson and Kayla Thompson, Fourteen Great-grand-children; a brother, James McMullen of Washington, DC; Devoted Family, Robert McMullen, Mattie Little, Williette Thompson, Betty Ann Moore, Hattie Faye Fisher, Galatia Howze, Brenda McDow and James McCullough and a host of nieces, nephews, special friends (the "Posse") near and far.
