Dorothy Elizabeth Black Nance, 71 of Charlotte, NC passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Novant Presbyterian Hospital - Huntersville.  She was the daughter of the late Louise Johnson and the late Howard Black.  She was born March 28, 1950 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina where she also received her education.

Dorothy was united in holy matrimony to Carl Nance in 1965 (56 years of marriage).

Dorothy was a loyal and dedicated member of Reeves Temple AME Zion Church until she moved to Charlotte, NC and joined Morning Star Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC and later on in life she joined Salem Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC.

Dorothy diligently worked at Eckerd Warehouse for 15 years until retirement.

She leaves to cherish her legacy, devoted husband, Carl Nance; loving daughter, Shawnetta Foddrell (Eugene) of Concord, NC, three devoted sons, Carlton Nance (Lisa) of Charlotte, NC, Antoine Nance (Tonia) of Gastonia, NC; Travis Nance (Phildericka) of Charlotte, NC; eleven (11) grandchildren; seven (7) great-grandchildren, and a host of other devoted nieces, nephews, family, and friends; as well as her close friend, Dorothy McManus.

Preceding Dorothy in death her siblings, Joe Donaldson, Jewel Ann Donaldson, along with her God-parents, Kenneth and Mable Torrence.
