Obituary

Pastor Dorothy Lee Nell Adams, 82 of Charlotte, departed her earthly life on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at Novant Presbyterian Health-Main.  She was born on March 7, 1939, to the union of Levy Pendergrass and Flora (Fulton) Pendergrass in Kingstree, SC.  She was the fourth of four to be born.  Dorothy was a servant leader, loving and thoughtful.

She was the founding pastor of Jesus Christ Outreach Ministry of Charlotte, NC.  After high school Dorothy attended Central Piedmont Community College.  She worked for AOC research for many years before becoming a pastor of Jesus Christ Outreach Ministries.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Levi Pendergrass and Flora (Fulton) Pendergrass; husband, Alexander Adams; children, Randy Adams, Donald Adams, Damin Adams and Linda McClain; and siblings, Alma Mouzon and David L. Pendergrass.

She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life, her sister, Willie Ruth Pressley of Sumter, SC; loving and devoted sons, Avery Adams and Travis Adams (Tammy); Godson, RaSean Springs (Nenneh); seven grandchildren, Marquis Adams (Crystal), Latasha Adams, Teiannya McCrorey, Breannya McCrorey, Antwone Dixon, Breanna McClain and Derrick McClain; three great grandchildren, Alana Wilson, A'Laiya Caldwell and KourtLynn Dixon; two special friends, David Gaston (Louise) and Charmel Newton, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family of whom she loved dearly.
