Mrs. Early Mae Godfrey, 94, of Rock Hill, SC departed this life on Friday, March 22, 2024 at her Residence.

Mrs. Early M. Godfrey, daughter of the late Charlie B. and Mary J. Smith was born in Anson County on April 20, 1929.  She departed this life on March 22, 2024, at her home.

She attended the Anson County Public Schools.  Early confessed Christ as her personal Savior at an early age.  She joined the Red Hill Baptist Church in Wadesboro, NC.  Later, she transferred her membership to Redemption Worship Center in Charlotte, NC.  She remained a faithful and devoted member until departure of her life.

She was married and from this union was born a daughter, Veronica Collins and a son, Danny Smith, both of whom preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Virdia King, Charlie Smith, Robert Smith, Tim Smith, Harlie Smith, William T. Smith and Lawrence Smith.

Mrs. Godfrey leaves to cherish her memories two sisters, Bessie Sturdivant of Charlotte, NC, Annie King (Ernest) of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren, Ronnie Collins of Concord, NC, Wonda Collins of Lilesville, NC, Donnie Collins of Asheboro, NC, Mary Jennae Lewis (Deaundrey) of Fort Mill, SC; six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
