Mr. Edgar Harris Gray, 90, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Charlotte Health & Rehab.

Edgar Harris Gray was born on February 21, 1934, to the late Dora D. Clyburn and Paul Gray.  He passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Charlotte Health and Rehab Center.  Mr. Gray was 90 years old.

Edgar graduated from Second Ward High School.  After graduation, he enlisted into the United States Army and was honorably discharged following his years of military service.

Edgar retired from the State Department of Transportation after 20 years of service.  He also worked for Bedder, Bedder & Moore Restaurant for five years.  He also operated his own lawn care service which he took much pride in.

Edgar served as a faithful member of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) for 40 years where he was also a sponsor to many men and women in the Charlotte area.  His favorite pastime was shooting pool and attending his AA meetings.

He was a member of the United Missionary Church of Charlotte, NC.

In addition to his parents, Edgar was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Gray.

Edgar's memories will be cherished with love by his daughter, Jennifer Gaddy (Roger); his sons, Michael Wright (Wanda) and Anthony Brown (Lisa); seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rose Gray; four nephews; and a host of friends.
