The Wilson, Ricks, King, and Greenidge families would like to announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and cousin, Rev. Edna Wilson Greenidge, of Kannapolis.
Edna was born unto the union of the late John Henry Wilson Sr., the former Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Republic of Liberia and the late Danetta Ricks King Wilson.
Edna graduated from Saint Teresa Convent, she then received a scholarship to study at the University of Paris Sorbonne where she studied all Haute Couture (high fashion).
Edna worked with renowned French designer Pierre Balmain from House of Balmain where she created fashion designs and made garments for runway fashion shows for 8 years. She later came to Liberia to manage the home economics department of mastery of education.
Edna relocated to the United States and married Walwyn Greenidge and become an ordained minister. Edna started Pentecostal Holiness Church of Jesus Christ and later retired from nursing before moving to North Carolina in 2008.
Edna leaves her children, Angalf (KiKi), Danny, Ruby, Edmund, Nola and Danetta; Siblings, Marie, Tony, Gwendoline, and Jerry. Late brothers, John H. Wilson, II, Joseph Wilson, Samuel Wilson and John T. Wilson. Grandchildren, Nareea, Jeremiah, Nya-Ann, Sanaiah Tamia, Nathanial and Alexander. Uncle Roosevelt King, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives.
