Obituary

Edwin Logan Stowe, Sr., 58, of McAdenville, NC, son of the late Grier W. Stowe and Geneva Mauney Stowe, was born July 13, 1954, in Mecklenburg County. He passed away and entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, January 19, 2013, while at his residence.

A joy to be around, Logan was very caring, thoughtful and willing to help others in need. He was a hard worker and was devoted to his family and friends. He always stressed the importance of working to establish and maintain healthy relationships with those he loved.

Logan was educated in the public schools of Gaston County and graduated from South Point High School. He then graduated from Belmont Abbey College with a degree in Business Administration. For many years, Logan worked in various manufacturing jobs at the management level. He later became self-employed as the owner of E.L. Stowe Home and Lawn Maintenance. He earned certification and licensure from Gaston College in Herbicide/Pesticide and HVAC. Logan enjoyed many hobbies including woodworking, listening to jazz music, grilling and traveling.

Logan accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior at an early age. Along with his sisters and brother, he grew up in Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and was an active member. In 2002, he joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC.

In addition to his parents, Logan was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Stowe Williamson.

Left to cherish warm memories are his children, Logan Stowe, Jr. (Erica), Melanie Stowe and Daniel Stowe; grandchildren, Johnathan, Christian, Justin, Ebony and Joshua Stowe; brother, Grier Stowe, Jr. and three sisters, Carrol Stowe, Doris S. Moore (Durene), and Jean S. Humphrey (Rev. Brad); mother of his children, Donna Holland Stowe; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Belmont at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Henrys Chapel Cemetery in Belmont, NC.
