Eleanor Ann Holmes Bryson was born to the late Helen and William (Pump) Holmes in Greenwood, SC on January 26, 1937. She passed to her heavenly reward quietly on October 28, 2017 in Charlotte, North Carolina, reuniting with her late son Kenneth (wife, Lilliana).

Ann is survived by her husband Henry Bryson Sr. to whom she was married for 61 years. Additionally, Ann is also survived by son Henry Jr. (wife, Machelle), daughter Tracy Bryson Plunkett, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, her sister Garnell Holmes, nephews, nieces, grandnieces, great-grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnephews, cousins and a host of beloveds.

Ann lived with her husband Henry Bryson in Dayton, OH for eleven years, before moving to St. Paul, MN.  Three years later, they moved to Springfield, VA, where Ann worked at Miss Harper Ladies Clothing, as a Sales Associate and model.

The next stop for Ann and Henry later was Minneapolis, MN, where Ann studied physical therapy at St. Mary's College, and went on to work with special needs children in the St. Paul and Minneapolis School districts.

After over 12 years of working with special needs children, Ann worked for Allianz Life Insurance Company as an Insurance Representative. At Allianz, she won several awards, including the prestigious President's Award.

In 1999, Ann retired from Allianz and moved to Charlotte, NC, where she returned to her passion of working with special needs children, on a part-time basis, at the Mecklenburg County school system. After fully retiring, Ann fellowshipped at Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she also served as Vice President of the senior adult ministry.

From the time she was a child—from Greenwood to Minneapolis to Springfield to St. Paul to Charlotte—Ann built a legacy of putting others first.

And, she wore it with remarkable grace.

Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 2020 W. Sugar Creek Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262
