Elias Amin Francis, 44 of Charlotte, NC passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 while at Atrium Health - Main. He was born October 10, 1976 at Harlem Hospital located in New York City to Anthony and the late Regina Francis. His mother predeceased him on June 28th of this year.

Elias was raised in Springfield, Massachusetts and educated in the public school system. He was an excellent student and always got excellent grades. He met his two life-long friends during these times, Carlos Ayala and Ameer Nobles. The three of them also became Boy Scouts in Troop #35 known as the "Orange Crush", and did very well, growing up to be outstanding gentlemen. Elias attended Central High School in Springfield for a year. He subsequently finished High School in Whiteville, North Carolina where he met other long term friends to include Joe Cokley, Stacey Alderman and Steven Alderman. Elias also gained many friendships through his jobs in Maryland and Charlotte. Elias graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with a B.S. in Business Administration and an MBA in the same discipline from Western International University.

His working career was spent in the financial industry in various positions and levels of responsibilities. He worked long hours with his eyes focused on being as successful as he could be with the talents and the business acumen God blessed him to have. Elias worked until he became medically disabled.

At the age of 15, Elias became ill and was diagnosed with a relatively rare liver disease, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. It affects the bile ducts of the liver. Subsequently, Elias suffered failed kidneys and was on dialysis, had a section of his intestines removed, became a chemically induced Type 2 diabetic, and had two liver transplants with another looming on the horizon in the not-too-distant future. In addition, numerous procedures and other operations were frequently performed. Very rarely had Elias experienced two or more days together without significant pain. Valiant was his 30 year struggle to live another day.

Elias is survived by his father, Anthony C. Francis; Medina Francis; Darlene Francis; Sisters: Jasmine Francis, Tiffany Singh, Sadiqa Francis, Kimberly Fussell, Zakia Vazquez, Shakirah Francis, Shani Francis, Janee Francis; Brothers: Maurice Francis and Mark Gee; Aunts: Valerie Francis and Joyce Evans; Grand Aunts; Phyllis Tillery, Carol Payne, and Anne Todd; Grand Uncle Johnny Pinckney; and many, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and true friends.
