Elizabeth Horton McGriff, affectionately known as "Lib" or "Granny" was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 5, 2021 at the age of 77.

She was the daughter of the late Almetta Barnes and Connie Belton born in Lancaster, South Carolina on July 3, 1943. After graduating Barr Street High School in, she married Herman McGriff and began her career at Springs Industries. Elizabeth later moved to Charlotte and worked in the hotel industry for 20 years before retiring in 2009 from The Park Hotel.

Elizabeth lived life to the fullest and her greatest joy was cooking a great meal for her family and friends, followed by a good card game and spirit in hand. Friends would gather for good food, good stories, laughter that made you cry, and you could find her at the center. She was the epitome of work hard and play even harder.

Left to cherish fond, loving memories are two brothers James and Henry of Charlotte, NC, a daughter, Angela Reid of Atlanta, GA, two nieces, Debra Wright (David) of Charlotte, NC, and Tammy Drafton of Rock Hill, SC, two grandchildren, Aki Reid and Dereka McIlwain both of Atlanta, GA, four great grandchildren, Santone, Sanai, Myles, and Dylan, three of her best friends, Willie Jean McKinney of Lancaster, S.C., Denise Lattimore and Sandra Holloway of Charlotte, NC, a close, personal friend, Mary Reid of Lancaster, SC.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by a special great nephew, Santo Belton. A host of other relatives and friends also remain and carry fond memories of Elizabeth.
