In the quiet of the early morning of August 19, 2020, Elizabeth Lilly Moore was called to Glory.

Elizabeth was the daughter and oldest child of Charlie and Gracie Caple.  As the oldest, she helped her parents with the eight children that followed. She graduated from West Badin High School, Badin, NC in 1957.  IN 1961, she married Charlie Moore and moved to Charlotte.  Although they divorced they remained great friends until his passing in 2017.

She was a dedicated mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.  Most called her Lib; and Lib gave it to you straight whether you liked it or not.  Known for her cooking and baking, family came faithfully for a plate on Sundays and especially during the holidays.  Her kind spirit was a joy to be around.

She was retired from the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System as a custodian.  All the staff enjoyed her and hated to see her leave.  While there, she received several accommodations for her dedicated service.  During her retirement she enjoyed going back to the schools to visit and traveling to Badin to be with family.

Elizabeth was a faithful member of Second Calvary Baptist Church.  There she served on the Usher Board, Kitchen Committee and Seniors Ministry until her illness.

Preceding her in death are her parents Charlie and Gracie Caple; and two brothers, Thomas Caple and Lonzie Caple.

Left to cherish beautiful memories are two sons, Martin Caple of Albemarle, NC and Marvin Moore of Mt. Holly, NC; one daughter, Pamela Gomillion of Charlotte, NC; four brothers, Charlie Caple (Willie Bell) of Albemarle, NC, Sylvester Caple (Elaine) and Leon Caple of Badin, NC, and Ponzie Caple (Althea) of Fort Worth, TX; two sisters, Virginia Terry of Badin, NC and Audrey Duke (Michael) of Midland, NC; grandsons, Derek Gomillion, Christopher Gomillion, Martin L. Caple, Jr., Quincy Washington (Minnie) and one granddaughter, Desiree Caple; ten great-grandchildren and host of wonderful family members.
