Elizabeth Pearson Williams, 86 of Charlotte, was called to glory on February 29, 2020 at Levine & Dickson-Aldersgate surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bennettsville, South Carolina on August 5, 1933 to the late Willie Pearson and Sara Elizabeth (Ross) Pearson.
She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas H. Williams, Jr.; her parents, sisters (Daisy, Edith, Julia Mae) and brothers (Robinson, Wilson, Renius, Prentiss).
Elizabeth graduated from Barber Scotia College in Concord, North Carolina in 1956. She was an educator who worked for Marlboro County, South Carolina and Charlotte Mecklenburg School Systems. She became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. on June 12, 1971.
Elizabeth was united in matrimony with Thomas H. Williams on December 28, 1960. Their union spanned 59 years. As a devoted military wife, Elizabeth cared for her children and family while stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, Columbia, South Carolina and Mannheim, Germany.
Elizabeth was a dedicated mother and wife who was humble with a giving spirit to family and friends. One of her favorite hobbies was sewing. As an avid reader, she enjoyed reading travel magazines and books. She loved her family and leaves to cherish fond memories her loving husband, Thomas H. Williams; her children, Sonya Williams of Charlotte, NC and Tobias Williams of Rock Hill, SC; sisters-in-law, Wilhelmina Dupree and Retha Mae Sparks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
