Mrs. Ella Mae Lockhart Givens, 86 of Charlotte, passed away on July 19, 2019 at her residence.  She was born on March 6, 1933 in Peachland, NC.  Ella moved to Charlotte at a young age and attended West Charlotte High School.   She later met and married her first love, Arthur A. Givens, Jr., and they soon began to raise a family.

Ella was a founding member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, where she remained a member until she departed this life.  She had a rewarding career at Pelton and Crane, where she worked until retiring in 2000. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and loved to travel.  Ella was a loving wife, and attentive mother, and devoted friend, always thinking of others first.  "To know her was to love her"; she was truly a phenomenal woman.

Ella was proceeded in death by her daughter, Mary Givens Paul (William), and son Arthur A. Givens III (Linda)

Ella leaves to celebrate her wonderful spirit, joy and talents, her husband of 70 years, Arthur A. Givens Jr., daughter, Pamela Givens Coleman; son, Eric Givens (DeAnna); sisters, Berlyn Bennett, Francis Lockhart, and Josephine Walker, several Grandsons, Granddaughters, Great-Grandchildren, extended family and friends.
