Ella Bell Plummer Talley was born to the late James A. Plummer, Sr and Frances Scott Plummer on April 29, 1933 in McCormick County, South Carolina. She exchanged the mortal for immortality on Sunday April 7, 2019 at home.
Ella was the middle child of four children. She was educated in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System.
She met and married the love of her life, Allen James Talley and enjoyed a long, loving marriage for over 65 years. From their union, three children were born,
Joseph, Bruce and Gilda.
Ella worked and retired from the Sherrill Company after 25 years and worked diligently in the Charlotte community for over 50 years. She was instrumental in the desegregation of the Charlotte Mecklenburg PTA Councils during the late 60's.
She was a member of the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections, Black Political Caucus, Vote Task Force, Women's Commission, Black Women Caucus, Former Chief Judge of Precinct 12 and member of the Deborah Chapter #424 O.E.S., PHA. Participated in many community based programs; Fighting Back, Fuel Assistance, REACH 2010, Share Program and many more to numerous to list.
She was a faithful and devoted member of Shiloh Institutional Baptist Church. She served as a Deaconess, Advisor of the Young Adult and Youth Usher Board, Financial Secretary and Advisor for the JA White Choir.
Mrs. Talley enjoyed traveling to her annual Family Reunions, cooking Sunday dinners for her family and talking on the phone. Her favorite snack was peanuts and raisins and mt. dew. You could always count on her for ANY and EVERYTHING. She was truly an "Earth Angel".
She was preceded in death by her Husband Allen, Son Bruce, Sister Josie, Brother Robert.
She leaves to celebrate her triumphs: son, Rev. Joseph A. Talley (Barbarette); daughter, Gilda Harris (Donald); brother, James A. Plummer, Jr (Tecola); five grandchildren, Guy Talley, Kellie Talley-Mason (John), Marcus Talley, Gelisa Stitt (LaWana), Jason Stitt (Candace); ten great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson Isaiah; a host of nieces and nephews and cousins and many friends.

Mrs. Talley may have been small in statue but a Giant in her service to GOD, her Family and her Community.
