Ms. Emma Lucille Beatty, 80, was affectionately known by family and friends as "Emma Lou" and "Cille". She was born on January 11, 1941 in Charlotte, NC to the late Georgia (Wilard) Beatty Ramseur and Griffin Ramseur. She departed this life on April 26, 2021.
Ms. Beatty was a graduate of West Charlotte High School Class of 1959. She had a strong passion and gift for the Art, particularly for drawing and painting. She completed coursework at Washing School of Art where she received a certificate of award on July 1, 1960.
She loved helping people of all walks of life. She worked as a social worker and performed social outreach for Charlotte Police System. She worked a a campus police office for Johnson C. Smith University and UNC Charlotte around the 1980's. She was also a taxicab driver for Speedy Cab Co.
She participated in the Adult and Hymn Choir at Woodland Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother James Beatty, sisters, Mary Elizabeth Archie and Katie Melvina Beatty Robertson.
She leaves to mourn her son (nephew), Wilard Beatty Sr. (Adrienne); grandson, Wilard Beatty Jr.; granddaughter, Alexandria "Alex" Beatty; step-granddaughters, Kiyanah and Khala, step grandson, Kiyan; sisters, Maggie Camp and Ollie Hunter; multiple nieces and nephews; Kenneth "Kenny" Archie, Rita Pettice, Vanessa Beatty, Timothy "Tim" Beatty, Dr. Willette Robertson, MD, Phillip "Tony" Archie, Vincent Simpkins, Christopher Simpkins, Kevin Ross, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
