Ms. Emma Brooks, 73, of Charlotte, NC, departed this life on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Southminster Hospice House.

Emma Brooks was born September 21, 1951, to the late Martha Foster Brooks and Lawrence E. Brooks Sr. She was the 5th child of eleven siblings. Preceding her in death were one sister, Janetta Stowe, one brother James Brooks and two sisters-in-law, Calvene Brooks and Wendy Brooks.  Emma entered eternal life on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

Emma confessed Christ as her Savior at an early age. She was a member of First Baptist Church-West. Emma attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, graduating from West Charlotte Senior High School in 1969. She furthered her education, graduating from NCA&T State University in 1973, with a degree in Business Administration. Her professional career led her to work for United States Post Service, followed by a career with Novant Business Office.

Emma was known for her culinary skills from her succulent pot roast to her famous banana pudding. Her greatest legacy is her unwavering love for the Lord and her family. She demonstrated that true strength comes from faith, and her loving spirit will forever guide us in our own journeys.

Left to cherish her memory is her only devoted daughter, Sharon Brooks; one grandson, Stephawn Brooks of Houston Texas; two granddaughters, Emya Brooks and Essence Frazier of Charlotte, NC; and one beloved great-granddaughter, Aniyah Brooks of Houston, TX; three brothers, Lawrence Brooks Jr. (Loretta) of West Virginia, Robert Brooks, and David Brooks of Charlotte, NC; five sisters, Dorothy Siler and Arleen Brooks of Charlotte NC, Trina Brown of Houston TX, Constance James (Edward) of Winston Salem NC, and Joyce Astin (Ted) of Stone Mountain GA; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
