Emma Lee Nesbitt Graves, 89 of Charlotte, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Atrium Health-Main.  She was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on July 21, 1930.

Mrs. Graves was preceded in death by her father Horace Nesbitt and mother Minnie Gossett; as well as her beloved husband, Walter Graves, Jr. and son, Rodgers Graves. She attended and graduated from Second Ward High School in Charlotte.

The joy of her life were her children and grandchildren, family and many friends.  She loved to travel and had the chance to visit several countries in Europe and 22 states.  Mrs. Graves gave her life to Christ in 1981 and became an active member member at Grace A.M.E. Zion Church.  She became a Deaconess in 1989.

Left to cherish her sweet memories are two daughters, Myra Mims (Eddie) of Albuquerque, NM and Janice Graves of Charlotte, NC; three sons, Carl Graves, Walter Graves III, Michael Graves (Pauline), all of Charlotte, NC; sister, Rose Ann Fewell; sisters-in-law, Janie, Diane, Clara, Carolyn, Carolyn and Roxie; brothers-in-law, William, Steve, Shelley, Nathaniel, Gordon, Scott, Pete; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
