Mrs. Emma Mena Wilson Hogan of Belmont, NC passed away on July 9, 2015 at her residence. She was born February 2, 1934 in Gaston County to the late Nathaniel Frank Wilson and Mena Wilson. Mrs. Hogan was an active member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Mt. Holly, NC for many years where she served on the Usher Board. Later she joined Catawba Heights Baptist Church in Belmont. She was married to John Albert Hogan, Sr. who preceded her in death. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who cared deeply for others. For many years, she worked as a caregiver in Gaston County, Mecklenburg County and Fort Mill, SC. In addition to her husband John, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Sam Hunter, Teannie Hunter, John Luther Wilson, Summey Wilson and Jim Wilson; and one sister, Estelle Boyles. Left to cherish precious memories are daughter, Crystal Renee Hogan of the home; son, John Albert Hogan, Jr. of El Paso, TX; seven grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Peaches Haynes of Apex, NC; brother, Grady Wilson, Sr. of Charlotte; sisters-in-law, Joan Wilson of Mt. Holly and Elizabeth Ann Griffin of Charlotte; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 12 noon at Mt. Siani Baptist Church, 339 Hawthrone Street, Mt. Holly, NC. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Interment will be at Hill Crest Cemetery, Mt. Holly, NC.
