Mrs. Emogene Ruth Springs, 69 of Charlotte, NC, on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, an angel of mercy gently eased into her room and led her through the door of eternal rest. Her family surrounded her until she transitioned to her final resting place. She was born November 15, 1951 to the late Tommy and Juanita Barrett.

Emogene attended Morgan Elementary and graduated from Second Ward School in 1969.  Mrs. Emogene was a faithful member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, where she was part of the pastor aid committee.  She retired with Lance Inc. of 31 years and Walmart of 15 years.

She was a widow to Lonnie Steven Springs.  Her sons Lonnie Jr. and London Springs, brother Donald E. Barrett and Mother In Law Carrie Cunningham preceded her in death.

Emogene leaves to cherish her memories: daughters Rhoda Springs, Sonya Springs (Willie) and Nandi Springs; son Shawn Steven Springs; a loving sister Sherry Ann Barrett; She was able to spend memorable moments with 13 grandchildren: Dequan Thompson, Tadrey Springs, Najee Springs (Shani), Amara Springs, Kiondra Springs, Juawarren Springs, Mekhi Grant, Danadia Springs, Yanique Springs, Kendall Springs, Mariah Springs and Miley Springs; 5 great-grandchildren: Ta'Jae Springs, Lauryn Springs, Regan Springs, Kamari Springs, and Nahlij Thompson; nieces LaToya Powell (Otis), Shaquita Young and Kayla Barrett, Father In Law John Thompson, brothers & sisters in law: Michael Springs (Sandra), Timothy Clark (Ann), Grace McCray (James), Mary Blackwell and Verna Cunningham will always remember the "Good Ole Days". Special cousins & friends George Jr. & Regina Johnson and Sadie Long; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
