On December 17, 2020, Erma L. Moore, our precious aunt and cousin, walked through Heaven's Gate where she was greeted with open arms from our Heavenly Father, her parents and siblings.
Erma was a lifetime member of Steele Creek AME Zion Church where she served on The Deaconess Board until her health started to decline.
She was born October 17, 1940 in Charlotte, NC, the youngest of ten children. She was a graduate of Torrence-Lytle High School, Class of 1959.
After attending Central Piedmont Community College and working various jobs, she enrolled in Presbyterian (Novant) Hospital Surgical Tech Class. Upon finishing the course, she was the first African American to work in surgery at Presbyterian Hospital. She retired March 2003 after more than 35 years in surgery and a supervisor in Central Processing.
In her spare time, she could be found working on small remodeling projects in her house, putting together beautiful flower arrangement, and working jigsaw puzzles.
She leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
