Ernest Fernando Buggs, 82 of Charlotte, peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Lakeside Place Adult Care. He was born on June 01, 1940 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Mr. Marshall Buggs Jr., and the late Mrs. Ophelia Dunbar Buggs.

Ernest was educated in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and was a 1957 graduate of Second Ward High School in Charlotte, North Carolina.  After graduation he embarked on a new journey taking him to New York City.  After a few years while residing in New York, he decided to enter the United States Army where he served four years.  Once he returned from the military, he pursued a career with New York Transit Authority where he served in several capacities until retirement on his 54th birthday June 01, 1994.

Education was very important and he had a love for working with numbers so, he chose to study Accounting at York College and CUNY college of Brooklyn, New York.

Ernest was part of the U.S. Army Band.  He also had a natural talent from hearing and playing music with the Clarinet and the Piano.

Ernest was a member of Reeder Memorial Baptist Church where he faithfully served on the Hymn Choir until his health failed.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Mr. Levi Buggs and sister's Mrs. Bettye Buggs Babb and Ms. Patricia Anne Buggs.

Family was everything to him and he enjoyed attending family reunions and family events where he could sit back and enjoy all.

He leaves to mourn his loss his daughter, Trina N. Woodson of Sumter, South Carolina, one grandson Nicholas Woodson of Knob Noster, Missouri and two granddaughters Demisha Woodson of Sumter, South Carolina and Porsche Woodson of Columbia, South Carolina and one great-grandson, Carter Woodson of Knob Noster, Missouri.  He's also survived by a sister Mrs. Joyce Buggs Woods (Walter) of Charlotte, North Carolina; nieces Jamillah Babb Wirtenson, Fela Babb, Brandi Woods, Jontilla Woods Coe (Eric), and Umetrius Buggs all of Charlotte, North Carolina and nephews William Broome of Charlotte, North Carolina, Andre Buggs (Vivian) of Conyers, Georgia, Ricky Buggs of Sacramento, California and Craig Babb (Roseanne) of Charlotte, North Carolina, along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and special friends.
