Mr. Ernest Gaither of Charlotte, passed away on August 1, 2015 at his residence. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in Grier Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Mr. Gaither was born June 28, 1957 in York County, South Carolina to the late James Johnson from Lake Wylie, SC and the late Magalene Brannon. "Peewee," as he was affectionately known, attended Roosevelt High School in Clover, SC. He loved to paint and cut grass and he made sure that his community looked good. He leaves to cherish precious memories his daughter, Laudricka Perry; step-daughter, Shanta Horton; six grandsons, Anthony Bush, Miguel Perry Jr., Mantic Perry, Tinijal Perry, Kayden Porter and Davion Hubert; two granddaughters, Erin Brown and Aariona Byrams, all of Charlotte; sister, Mary Alice Boyd; a nephew who was like a son, Larry Donnell Boyd; two other nephews, Laroyd D. Boyd (Kamesha) and Lamar D. Boyd; niece, Lashandra D. Boyd, all of Powder Springs, GA; one uncle, Wylie Carothers of Lake Wylie, SC; his special friend, Andrea Harvey of Charlotte, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
