Ernest Robert Scott, Jr., 84, of Charlotte, North Carolina, departed this life on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Cone Health Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, NC.  He was born on May 1, 1940, to Ernest and Lucy Scott, the sixth child of their twelve children.

He was a father, brother, uncle, grandfather, husband and great-grandfather.  He grew up in Charlotte and was a graduate of the historic Second Ward High School in Charlotte.  Soon after graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he served for four (4) years until he was honorably discharged.

Ernest was preceded in death by his father, mother, four sisters, one brother, a half-brother, and his son, Ernest Robert, III, as well as numerous uncles and aunts.

He leaves loved ones to cherish his memory who include two daughters of his own, Lydia and Ernestine; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a host of sisters and a brother, nieces and nephews, and more cousins than we can count.
