Ernestine Reid was born February 3, 1937 to the late Sarah Louise Boyles and Waddell Sawyer Boyles.

She attended West Charlotte High School in Charlotte, NC.

Ernestine was a devoted member of H.O. Graham Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.  She was a member of the choir and loved to sing.

Ernestine Boyles was united in holy matrimony with Hasker Reid in Charlotte, NC.  They were the proud parents of three children.

Ernestine was employed by Highland Mills as a supervisor for 27 years.  After retiring from Highland Mills, Ernestine worked at Walmart as a greeter for 6 years and a second retirement.  Ernestine didn't have much leisure time as she was always coming to the aid of others, however, there was one pleasure she would not compromise.  That was going to Church's Chicken after Sunday service with her three grandchildren.

Ernestine Reid departed this life on January 24, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Waddell Sawyer Boyles and Sarah Louise Boyles; husband, Hasker Reid; and brothers, Ralph Boyles, Waddell Boyles, Jr. and John Boyles.

Ernestine leaves to mourn three sons, Ricky Reid (Mary), Ronald Reid (Twanda) and Reginald Reid (Teresa); grandchildren, Rachelle Reid, Rachaun Reid (Kateria), Reginald Pauley, Lakeesha Pauley, Taleesha Reaves (Jerry), Kymberly Sanders, Aja Gill, Aalyiah Buckhalter, Ahmod Hill; one sister, Barbara Walker; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
