Mrs. Etta Louise Davidson Lynn was called home on Thursday, November 30, 2023. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 30, 1936 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Vallrea Davidson. Etta was an only child.

Etta was educated in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system, a proud graduate of West Charlotte Senior High. She furthered her education by attending Johnson C. Smith and then receiving her Masters in Education from Winthrop University; with a concentration in Special Education which lead her to her love of children with special educational needs and she became an advocate for them. She worked in South Carolina schools before she found her permanent school home with Hickory Grove Elementary School in Charlotte; where she proudly served for thirty years.

Education was not her only love; she also loved the church. She was a proud member of First United Presbyterian Church since its inception  as Brooklyn Presbyterian Church where her Mother introduced her to the Lord. She had served on several committees, ministries, boards, and counsels from feeding the homeless to Habitat for Humanity.

Etta was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; affectionately called Etta Ma by her grandkids and members of her community. She was proceeded in death by her only son Everette Lynn (2016)) and leaves behind to cherish her member; her husband of fifty-two years Willie Lynn, her daughter Leah Lynn, her five grandkids (Elijah Lynn (EJ) of Texas, Kennedy and Kiah Lynn, Madison Lynn, and Kobe Lynn) and a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
