Eula Mae Thomas, 87, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at her residence in Charlotte, NC.

Eula Mae Thomas, daughter of the late James Conwell and Nannie Rivers Conwell, was born on January 19, 1939 and departed this life on August 9, 2026.

Eula was preceded in death by her husband, Rodis Thomas; as well as her beloved brothers and sister, Samuel Rivers, James Rivers, Willie Conwell and Betty Ann Conwell.

At an early age, Eula accepted Christ as her personal Savior and dedicated her life to God, in 1954, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Clinton, SC. After moving to Asheville, NC, she became a faithful member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she worshipped for many years. After relocating to Charlotte, NC, she became a devoted member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where she continued to worship and serve faithfully.

Eula was a proud graduate of Stephens Lee High School in Asheville, NC, Class of 1958. She was a dedicated employee of Quaker Oats in Asheville, NC where she worked faithfully until her retirement.

Eula leaves behind her loving daughters, Margarita Wilde, Melinda Brunson and Angela Hines, all of Charlotte, NC, along with her sons-in-law, Steve Wilde, David Brunson and Rodney Hines. She also leaves a daughters-by-heart, Francine Young of Asheville, NC and Vickie Hemphill of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Natasala Thomas, Kyla Hines, Rodney Hines, Jr., and Laila Hines; grandson-by-heart, Khiry Sidbury, of Florence SC; and her great-grandson, Khiry Sidbury Jr.; her longtime best friends, Tecora Pitts of Clinton, SC, Peggy Robinson of Asheville, NC, Katherine Lornson of Charlotte, NC and Ms. Frances Hines of Boiling Springs, NC; along with a host of beloved relatives, friends, church family and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.

Eula’s life was a beautiful testimony of faith, perseverance, love, strength and devotion to family. She was a woman whose presence brought love and warmth to those around her. Her unwavering faith and commitment to family left an everlasting impression on everyone blessed to know her.

Although she is no longer with us in body, her love, wisdom, laughter, and legacy will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, family, friends, and the many lives she touched. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
